What I’ve Been Watching… King of the Hill
King of the Hill is the now-cancelled Fox series created by Mike Judge (Idiocracy, Extract) and Greg Daniels (who would go on to create the American The Office and Parks & Recreation). Season 3 is pretty hilarious. Not to say the other 12 aren’t.
Bill Dauterive (to the left) is voiced by Stephen Root, whom you may recognize from NewsRadio, Dodgeball, or Office Space (the great Mike Judge film). He’s a bumbling idiot but so sweet and earnest that he ends up being perhaps the most likeable character.

You can almost say the exact same thing about Hank Hill’s son, Bobby (to the right), voiced hilariously by Emmy-winner Pamela Segall Adlon (Recess, Californication). The father-son relationship between Bobby and Hank is a part of the series I wasn’t aware was so strong, but the differences between father and son are so obvious that it actually leads to some great storylines.
I was hesitant to give this show another chance ‘cause I never loved it when I was younger, but I’m glad I did. The entire series is streaming on Netflix’s Watch Instantly now, so be like me and check it out.
